The second synagogue, or new synagogue, was founded by the Jewish community of Castelló towards the end of the 13th century. Later the house, converted into a home, was known as Can Forns, and then Can Comes. Two doorways remain from the old building, one with a round-pointed voussoir and part of another that only retains the jambs. Both are made with well-worked ashlars. The house must have been renovated in 1781, as can be seen in the plastering of the facade.
