Medieval Festival Land of Troubadours

This is one of the first cultural festivals with historical atmosphere in Catalunya and is the most important and festive event in Castelló in the year. It’s a festive and multicultural space where the residents of the town revive with enthusiasm and party spirit their glorious as a county town of Middle Age.

Counts and countesses, musicians, monks, knights, comedians and visitors, amble through the streets of the county town during the Festival’s weekend.

Festival starts Friday evening with the opening where all entities are present in front of the gorgeous Basilica of Santa Maria.

Then, the Empúries counts preside the big dinner in the Pati del Palau Comtal. More than two hours of dinner-show, where all kinds of characters spice the event (you should book to go to dinner).

During Saturday and Sunday visitors can enjoy a never-ending program of events that happens in the town night and day. Medieval horse’s tournaments, theatre and music through the streets, knight’s fights, medieval music concerts, lectures…  transport visitors to the most important age of the town, when Castelló d’Empúries was the capital of the whole county.
