Pools Route

This route will let you to know an extense area of the Parc Natural dels Aiguamolls de l’Empordà.

It passes through different municipalities that are included in the park, among them, Castelló d’Empúries and Empuriabrava, Palau-Saverdera, Pau, Peralada and Vilanova de la Muga.

You will visit places with great ecological importance and wonderful landscapes, for example two integral reserves: les Llaunes and the Estanys.

The route also will let you to visit the basses de les Garrigues, Sant Joan dels Erms, el Rec del Molí, the reservoir of Vilanova de la Muga  and the lower part of the Muga river.

You can start the route from different places, as it is designed to be done either on the whole or by stretches.

The text and the explanations that you will find along the way, will help you to understand the history of the  Empordà plain, the mosaic of protected countryside that you will cross.
