The school of the new synagogue was founded in the building known as casa Forns, later known as Can Comas, in Peixateries Velles street, on the Mercadal hill. for the jewish community of Castelló. It is documented towards the end of the XIII century. The portal to the left of the facade was the access point to the praying area.
